Our Mission
TDCA is dedicated to fostering the growth of chess within the Thane district, nurturing aspiring players, and shaping them into accomplished experts. Our commitment lies in continually organizing a multitude of competitions and promoting chess across Thane with meticulous planning and strategic execution.
We believe that consistent exposure not only instills confidence but also enhances players' mastery of the game. To facilitate this, TDCA organizes Chess Championships in diverse categories such as under 7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17, U-19 (open & girls), and more on a regular basis. These tournaments present significant opportunities for numerous chess players to showcase their skills.
Aims, Objects, and Purposes of the T.D.C.A include.
- Promoting and developing the game of chess within the Thane district.
- Affiliating and becoming an integral unit of the Central Maharashtra Chess Association and/or the All India Chess Federation.
- Governing and supervising chess activities in Thane District in accordance with established regulations.
- Encouraging the formation of Local Chess Clubs and Taluka Associations.
- Hosting competitions for various chess trophies possessed by the Association.
- Coordinating activities among Inter Clubs/Taluka Associations for chess tournaments and championships.
- Arranging chess matches with other organizations through various means.
- Facilitating the creation and solving of chess problems.
- Curating a chess library and supporting the publication of chess literature.
- Advising, assisting, and coaching chess players and referees through dedicated camps and programs.
- Maintaining a ranking list of chess players.
- Selecting teams and individuals to represent T.D.C.A in various Divisional Championship tournaments.
- Fundraising for the association's purposes.
- Acting as trustees for funds or properties aimed at promoting chess.
- Arranging or supporting lectures and demonstrations on chess.
- Sending representatives or teams for participation in chess tournaments locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Undertaking activities for the betterment and promotion of chess within the district.
